Ventnor on the South of the Isle of Wight is a quiet traditional seaside resort, 35 minutes’ drive from Wightlink Fishbourne Car ferry, and 40 minutes from Wightlink Yarmouth and Red Funnel Cowes car ferries.
One of Britain’s most famous Victorian health resorts due to its unique micro-climate.
The town lies beneath St Boniface Down (the highest point on the Isle of Wight) and for the most part is built on the side of a steep hill leading down to the seafront and beach. Ventnor has grown in popularity for its many eating spots that has become the envy of many bigger towns.
The promenade still retains that Victorian stroll feeling. If you decide to self-cater there are two supermarkets in town, including those rare to find local produce butchers and greengrocers.
